‘SNOWEE’ A SHOWSTOPPER IN USA

MBABANE - Eswatini-born model Nolwazi ‘Snowee’ Simelane is the result of dreaming big.

As she had always declared that she would end up in international fashion shows during interviews with this publication, Simelane has proved that dreams can come into being by winding up on runways in the United States of America. Not only did she appear in different fashion weeks but she was made the showstopper model for three designs at the annual Atlanta City Fashion Week (ACFW) last Saturday.

The ACFW, which was on its 15th edition, took place from September 19 to September 21 at Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the United States of America. In fashion, being a showstopper model means being the model who showcases a design which is highly likely to evoke applause from the audience - this is the climax of each collection. A showstopper is the design. Designers choose their showstoppers models.

Brands

Simelane show stopped for Clavon Leonard Designs, where she is the official model. She also show stopped for American brands Dell Scott Collection and Cindy Fletcher. Cindy Fletcher Designs are from an upcoming fashion designing student and Dell Scott Collection is Dell Scott Collection and Divacoutoure; an online ‘tour de fashion’ accessory boutique that features upscale jewellery and stylish accessories. The entertainment desk is in possession of videos which show that the Eswatini model was indeed the showstopper model for the three different designs.

Simelane is currently touring the United States of America, gracing runways in the different States and doing photoshoots for Clavon, an internationally renowned designerwear where she is officially the model. The model left the continent over a week ago to do the most in America. Simelane, who is also an aspiringan actress, confirmed that she was the showstopper model for the three designs. “It is no surprise that I was showcasing the crème de la crème design for Clavon Leonard Designs as I am itheirmodel, however, I was totally surprised to be called out to be the showstopper model for the other two designs,” said Simelane. Simelane said she got the role by auditioning with other models prior to the show.
