CALLERTUNEZ LAUNCH FOR SWAMA NOMINEES

MBABANE – SWAMA empowers local artists to make money through their own music. This is the message that is being preached by this year’s test approaching MTN SWAMA Awards.

In its third year running, the MTN SWAMA Awards continue to celebrate and recognise recording artists who have contributed to the growth of the music industry in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

SWAMA is the acronym for Swaziland Arts and Music Association. This year, the core vision was revealed as to convey a high impact message by delivering a prestigious awarding ceremony and to share our talent with the world.

This was confirmed by SWAMA PRO Penny Bouwer, who said through a platform such as the MTN SWAMA Awards, they have seen local artists thrive in the music business as attention on the local industry is being received from beyond our borders.
This year’s awards theme is ‘Monetise Your Music’. 

Bouwer revealed to the Entertainment Desk that as we roll into the month of November, MTN would have all nominated artists’ music placed on the list of songs on MTN Callertunez.

She highlighted that Eswatini was ready to groom and grow artists in a way that they could now get the most out of their talent.
Speaking to Popzin’s Manager, Kenneth Tsabedze, who is one of the nominated artists, said they were thrilled to get the opportunity to have their music feature on the MTN Callertunez list and they hope that it would boost them financially.

“We hope that this year’s awards are going to be bigger and better and with the theme for this year, we really hope that our artists will be greatly empowered.” said Tsabedze.

Also nominated is Zoe Genesis who said she was thrilled that her music would reach the masses and a platform as big as MTN would greatly encourage people to listen to her music more.

As this year’s theme focuses on making money,  she encouraged artists and the audience alike to come to the event dressed in high fashion as it is a glitz and glam affair.

She said it was a norm in the music industry that people assimilate good fashion with good music in that fashion sells music.
She also revealed that tickets to the awards ceremony would be made available soon at E250 each and that they would be limited.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 7, 2019.
