HIGH PRAISE ASSEMBLY COLLECT BEST OF AFRICA AWARD

MBABANE - “Wehlukile, akalinganiswa” indeed.

This line from the song written by Sandile Makhanya which was the song the group High Praise Assembly International was nominated for proved true as they collected the award under the Best of Africa category. The 12th Annual Crown Gospel Awards took place this past weekend on Sunday night at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa. It was aired live on SABC 2 and YouTube at 8pm with the theme for the year being #Izinga #Siyenyuka. Gospel musicians and fans alike came clad in unique outfits lighting up the red carpet to celebrate this annual historic event.From Eswatini, there was High Praise Assembly International who were nominated for an award under the Best of Africa category. Among the guests was Eswatini Mobile Chief Customer Executive, Gciniwe Fakudze, who came as a guest clad in a stunning asymmetrical mermaid dress with petal and pearl embellishments designed by Silindile Dlamini.

Fakudze described the event as a world class production which she was happy to attend. The event was hosted by Pearl Modiadie and Khaya Mthethwa, and featured performances from Takie Ndou, Sbu Noah, Sneziey Msomi and more, with collaborative performances from Sgwili, Sphumelele Mbambo, Malusi Mbokazi, Rofhiwa Manyaga and Zanele Mbokazi.
Takie Ndou, Sbu Noah and Chumani Ngojo lead this year’s list with nominations in multiple categories. When the time came to present the Best of Africa category the winner was announced by the Deputy Minister of Social Development in South Africa, Hendrietta Bagopane Zulu accompanied by McDonald Ndou, who is famously known as KK from Muvhango.
High Praise Assembly International had been nominated alongside Yvonne May from Nigeria for her song titled ‘Our God’, Minister Michael Mahender from Zimbabwe for his song titled ‘Salt and Light’ as well as Uche Agu from Nigeria for his song titled ‘Soldiers of the cross’.
