SANDS, MSIMISI COLLABORATE
MBABANE – Sands and Msimisi are set out to make magic! The two Eswatini vocally gifted artists have collaborated in making a song which has been given the title ‘Zumbu’.
The song, however, will drop on January and already, a promotion video of it is still being shot with dancer and Kids In Motion founder Velile Dube.
Sands, real name Sandziso Matsebula, got his big break through his song ‘Tigi’ and he has been making hits ever since.
Msimisi, full name Msimisi Sithole, has recently collaborated with South African rapper Nasty C and other after winning the ‘Lift As You Rise’ initiative by Redbull Music and Tall Racks Records.
Msimisi confirmed the collaboration, stating that him and Sands had mutual respect for each other’s craft.
“When I wrote this song I knew he would be the perfect fit vocally and lyrically. Also, male vocalists rarely collaborate so I knew it was a stereotype I wanted to break.
“The song is entitled ‘Zumbu’ and you can already tell from the title what it is about. It is a feel good, dance song and honestly probably my favourite work. The insanely talented Slotta is on production and we recorded at New Life Studios,” said Msimisi.
He also said the song itself is different to anything they have done and probably still his favourite.
Quality
“Every person involved in it is amazing at what they do and was intentional about quality. I am excited for you all to hear it once we have decided when to drop it,” he said.
Sands confirmed the collaboration.
“Yes we have collaborated and I am excited about it,” he said.
Collaborations are not new with Sands as he has collaborated with The Village Pope Tsepo Tshola in their song ‘Ngiyathandaza’ and South Africa’s Loyiso Bala in ‘Ndimbonile’.
