BENJAMIN DUBE GIG IS OFF!
MBABANE – Believe it or not.
Benjamin Dube’s Glory In His Presence album tour has been cancelled in the eleventh hour in a sudden turn of events. The bishop was bound to perform in the country this coming weekend at Metropolitan Evangelical Church for praise and worship filled encounter with the Lord. Dube had been in the country two weeks ago at the Happy Valley Hotel to launch the album tour in Eswatini. He expressed excitement over the love the people of Eswatini had for him.
Kingdom
He had said during the launch that he considered the kingdom to be his home as part of his family members were from Nhlangano. However, according to a statement issued to the Entertainmnet Desk by Leserato Events on behalf of Sisekelo (PTY) LTD, the organisers of the show have come out to say that they can no longer host the bishop and his team in the country due to matters that arose in the final hours of organising. The events company alleged that the office of Bishop Benjamin Dube imposed conditions that were not included in the agreement between the two parties and made them compulsory for the show to go ahead. It was unfortunate that the organisers could not agree to these variations to the agreement, as they had huge financial implications on their part.
In the statement, it was alleged that the artist took the stance that he would not honour the show if the conditions were not met which was in effect a cancellation of the agreement. “We regret this position as we were looking forward to hosting bishop Benjamin Dube in the country but it is unfortunate that this is what it had to come to,” said Lerato Mtshali, who is the Public Relations Officer for Leserato Events. Mtshali further said organisers of the show had full intentions to host the show as they had paid deposits and that all those who had purchased tickets could get refunds at the outlets where they purchased them.
