GLITZY YELLOW CARPET AFFAIR

MBABANE – The MTN SWAMA Awards theme this year was glitz and glamour. Nominees and the audience alike came ready to dazzle in the glitzy dresses and glamorous bespoke suits and ties.

The prestigious MTN SWAMA awards occur yearly around December where Eswatini musicians and comedians are appreciated for the hard work and talent in as far as uplifting the music and entertainment scene is concerned.
They took place at the Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre on Saturday evening and started at around 6pm.

In a prior statement while revealing the theme for the awards, the spokesperson for this huge and much celebrated event Ms. Penny Bouwer said the broader theme for this year’s instalment of the MTN SWAMA Awards was ‘Monetize your music’, and since a befitting dress theme that resonates with showbiz grandeur and excellence is ‘Glitz and glamour’ this therefore threw the gauntlet to artists and their image creators to think outside the box in designing glamorous outfits that would proverbially ‘steal the show’.

While many complained that they had received the memo a bit late and thus had to make do with what they already had, quite a number of them were seen to have put in an extra mile of effort in dressing up for this spectacular event.
