MANZINI – ‘‘We need more of these pageants.’’  Those were the words of of Miss Eswatini Nondumiso Dlamini First Princess, during the first crowning of Little Miss Eswatini that was held at Manzini Club last Friday.

The purpose of the pageant was to educate young girls between the ages of 9 to 13 years old, and to also empower them to help the less privileged.
The room was filled with family and friends who came to support their relatives. Excitement was written all over their faces.

The top 10 contestants showcased different activities including dancing and art.  The crowd’s favourite act was Shakira Mamba, who also took the crown. She gave a stellar performance and response when asked what she would do if she were to be crowned.

Her response left the judges nodding, as she said she would focus on helping children by providing school uniforms.  All the 10 contestants gave out impressive answers, giving the judges a hard time in picking the best.
The pageantry was a one-of-a-kind as the contestants had no make-up on and every child went home with an award.

“This is really a great initiative, children will get role models they can easily relate to because of the age. They are also groomed to change the pageantry,” said Miss Eswatini First Princess Nondumiso Dlamini.
