FEES SHORTAGE, NO CLASS FOR MISS ESWATINI

MBABANE- Is it the end of the Taiwan education dream for Miss Eswatini? This question remains unanswered as Miss Eswatini Nosipho Dlamini’s trip to Taiwan, has been postponed.


Dlamini was set to start class at the Providence University in Taichung, Republic of Taiwan on Thursday. The beauty queen, who was crowned in 2018, is supposed to be pursuing a three-year degree in International Business Administration.
She could not travel to Taiwan because of lack, of funds.


Last week, the Entertainment Desk revealed that the beauty queen from Ezulwini she was short by E66 954 for six semesters (three years). Broken down, she was short of E11 159 per semester, including this one, which is her first.
“I was supposed to leave yesterday but I could not. Not a single person or entity has come through for me.
“It would be risky for me to leave without the E11 159 for this semester,” said Dlamini.Engulfed by emotion during an interview, she said she was heartbroken that she was going to miss some lessons.


“My prayer is for someone to com e through for me. My fear is losing this opportunity,” she said.
She pleaded with the nation to assist her in achieving her Taiwan education dream.The E66 594 mainly includes accommodation, health, insurance and extra curriculum activities expenses.


“My scholarship, which I was awarded when I won Miss Eswatini, includes  tuition and miscellaneous fees which amount to E130 200 for the six semesters. The E66 594 is for extra fees,” she said.
It was reliably gathered that Miss Eswatini’s  travelling and VISA epexenses which amounted to E8 500 were covered by Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC).ENCAC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley Dlamini encouraged the Eswatini nation to assist the beauty queen with her tuition.

“We got so involved such that we wrote a letter that she utilised in requesting assistance. We plead with the nation to help her where they can,” said the CEO
Pageants Eswatini President Catriene Potgeiter also encouraged emaSwati to assist Miss Eswatini achieve her education goals.


“I cannot recall the last time Miss Eswatini went overseas to study.
“Educationais a move in the right direction- she deserves all the help she can get,” the President.  Potgeiter went to direct her request to Eswatini businesspeople and corporates.
