MBABANE – ‘We had successful Easter holidays without bookings. ’  This was said by one of the well-known gospel musicians, Gabriel Dlamini, in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday.

He said they were ministering through social media platforms by streaming.
“We had a successful online worship session that was themed ‘His death, our victory’. Worship is the perfect opportunity to host the presence of God,” he said.

Performances

He said their main purpose as a gospel group, was to minister through music even though they also made a living out of it.
“The current situation is new to everyone. Easter holidays were a great time for us as gospel musicians to get bookings but we believe all shall pass and God will heal the world,” he added.

Their page attracted over 200 viewers.  It is worth noting that they were not the only artists who were taking advantage of the internet.
Siphiwo Ndlangamandla also tapped into the digital sphere as he also was live streaming his performances.

“What inspired the streaming is the zeal to worship God with my fellow brothers and sisters despite the fact that we can’t meet and be more than 20. I thought let’s do it anyway on Facebook because people can still be part of it as they watch us live wherever they maybe and interact with us,” he said.

They were not only ministering through music, but they were also sharing the Word. He also shared that they wanted to also give hope and reach out to people as they can no longer host events.

Channel

“What I shared was actually prayer, praise, worship and a word of assurance to our fellow people that, God is still God and he loves us all. Calling upon his great name is what we do and we know he hears us each time we call him.
He is going to save us from this virus, heal, protect our people on this land and the whole world,” he explained.

His channel lasted for an hour and attracted more than 300 people streaming and 4000 views.
It is worth noting that most churches opted for this way of worshipping as many were sharing their online links for worshippers and gospel music lovers to take part in these sessions from the comfort of their homes while keeping safe and maintaining social distancing.
