SMALLZ REACHES 30 000 YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS
MBABANE – We have been on lockdown for the past 26 days and for over a month, entertainers and entertainment spots were closed due to COVID-19.
This, however, has not stopped comedian Smallz and company from growing their views and subscribers on popular video streaming site, YouTube.
The company consists of Smallz, S’lwane and Gogo as well as Bongiswa the comedian.
They have over the last couple of years since inception attracted over 30 000 subscribers on their channel.
They have managed to further get a whooping 11 million viewers through the skits they post with each skit having close to 10 000 views.
Speaking to the Entertainment Desk, Philani Mpanza, who is their publicist and manager said this was the first of its kind for a liSwati to have such a high number of subscribers and viewers.
He highlighted that the channel was only a year old after being created earlier in 2019.
Mpanza said this growth was incredible because it placed them at a better opportunity to monetise their content through their channel.
“In this way as our channel grows, we also get the opportunity to have a verification badge that proves us as well-established comedians in the country.
This in turn gives us the leverage to collaborate in the industry with companies for bigger opportunities,” he added.
He made an example of Nigerian comedian Emmanuella and her uncle from Marc Angel Comedy whose five million viewers earned them a verification badge.
A verification badge or tick boosts the power on the channel.
Smallz: the comedian also has a Facebook page which was created in 2018 with over 100 000 likes.
It is evident that Smallz: the Comedian’s page is the leader by a margin among the local comedians as Mdura sits at 575 subcribers meanwhile Gedlembane sits at 564 subscribers.
