MBABANE – Firebrand rapper Lution (formerly Psycholution) last week dropped a surprise trap song aptly titled ‘Quentin Quarantino’.
It’s already charting at number 20 on number 19 on the weekly Eswatini Top 20 charts.

The song became one of the two new entries this week, and became Lution’s first radio single this year. Lution has in the past topped the radio charts with numerous singles, and according to chart show compiler Bongani ‘DJ Tizalami’ Dube, he continues be a force to reckon with in the hip hop community.

“It’s quite refreshing to see Lution demonstrating his versatility, and one can tell he had so much fun riding onto a trap beat and it’s no brainer why ‘Quentin Quarantino’ had to drop during the COVID-19 time, where quarantine, self-isolation, mask-wearing, and hand-washing are some of the recommended guidelines in fighting the spread of the pandemic,” said Dube.

The other new entry of the week came from South African rapper Zakwe, who featured Lungie K on the song ‘Setbacks’. The song debuted at number 20.
Meanwhile, DJ Cup and Slotta enjoyed a three-week run at the top of the charts with their runaway hit single ‘Happiness’. The song features Mvelo on vocals, and has been described as ‘a timely piece amid ongoing anxieties’.

“This song has a rare element of sounding fresh every time one presses ‘play’, and its message is quite timely amid the current stresses, anxieties, and disease. It’s a song of hope, a song of self-love, and indeed, a song of happiness,” said chart show presenter Lindelwa ‘Lindz’ Mafa.

Msunduza-based music heavyweights M Seth and Mijo maintained the second position with ‘Nembeza’, while self-styled new school music leader Flameboy Universe maintained the third position with ‘Fun’imali’.
