CEMBELESCALABA USES HIS VOICE ON COVID-19
MBABANE – Artists are vehicles to sharing positive messages with their music. Cembelescalaba, being one of them, has collaborated with Mcwayizeni Ntshangase, Mgwamandze and Dr Popz to create music that will remind people of the coronavirus and how they can practise precautionary measures to avoid contracting the virus.
He is a young artist, aged 22, who also practises as a traditional healer in his home situated at Nhlambeni.
Speaking to the Entertainment Desk, he said it seemed like emaSwati were not heeding the regulations set by the government to curb the coronavirus pandemic.
“Some people are found to be on the roads and in town unnecessarily. I was disheartened to see all of this happening around me as most people seem not to be afraid or bothered by the spread of this virus and we wanted to alert them that it is dangerous,” he said.
protect
He revealed that the song was also a plea to God to protect his people from the virus because it has killed many people all over the world.
Cembelescalaba highlighted that this virus was dangerous in that most essential services were shut down because of it and it was reason enough for people to be afraid.
He made examples of countries, schools and businesses being shut down because of this virus.
Meanwhile, the artist is using this time to reflect on his life and perfect his craft by creating more music and interacting with his supporters and fans on Instagram and Facebook live features to remain relevant.
request
The artist said the song was readily available on radio and people could request it for airplay.
He concluded by saying that it would be made available soon on social media for downloads as well as on YouTube for streaming.
In a recent interview, SWAMA president Lutfo Dlamini, said there was a need for government and the national disaster team to partner with artists as people would relate better if their local idols are taking center stage demonstrating on the precautionary measures such as hand washing and staying at home.
