Korrosive Da MC, whose real name is Sonqoba Mavimbela, will be presenting a competition dubbed ‘#LockDownRapChallenge.’
The competition is a collaborative project between FEAR clothing brand, NkaBi, TGMR,TEDDZ URBAN, Focus Talent Int and Culo Music App .
Upcoming hip hop musicians will finish off a track, for them to win the grand price. This was confirmed by Korrosive Da MC in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday. He said the competition was meant to empower and motivate upcoming artists.

“This is more of a challenge that will also help upcoming artists to gain fans and also build a profile for themselves,” he said.
The competitions will take place online, as most people are taking advantage of the digital space.
“This project has been launched to encourage people to stay at home during the pandemic, especially the youth. We all know that most people are on social media and we wanted to take advantage of that and bring something positive during this period,” he said.
It is worth noting that this challenge is strictly for upcoming artist.
“We just want to challenge other under grounders; we have a lot of talented young people waiting for the right connections to make it. This platform will give them the channel to be recognised, after the lockdown they will spread their wings,” he added.
For artists to participate in this challenge they should visit Korrosive Da MC’s timeline on Facebook to get download links of the unfinished songs.

The lucky winner who will get more likes on Facebook will walk away with a local clothing brand merchandise sponsored by FEAR TGMR, TEDDZ URBAN and NkaBi worth E1 000, a studio session to complete the songs with Korrosive and also get two free studio sessions of their own choice of songs worth E500 , an instrumental package by @metrognome808 worth E1 500, photo shoot worth E500 sponsored by Focus Tales Int and a fully directed music video shoot with a budget of E6 000 sponsored by Focus Tales Int.
The above mentioned prizes tally up to E9 500.
“We hope people will jump for this opportunity and also participate by supporting their favourite rapper,” he said. He went on to invite other interested companies to contribute more prizes for the winner.
The competition will start on April 29, 2020.
“You don’t have to record in a studio, you can do the video in the comfort of your home. Remember we in the partial lockdown and we need to take all health precautions,” he added.
