LINDO MTHUPHA GRACES AFROBOTANICS HAIR RANGE
MBABANE – Local personality and MC Lindokuhle Mthupha’s face has been included to be part of the Afrobotanics hair care range Africa Day campaign.
The Eswatini beauty’s picture was shared on social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with the caption “I am my own kind of beautiful”.
It was alongside South African personality, Pearl Thusi, who is renowned for celebrating her own ethnicity through her crown.
Hers read “I am our ancestors’ wildest dreams” followed by different hash tags that celebrate African women as young queens who represent the African continent.
The Afrobotanics hair care range is the baby of Eswatini born business woman Ntombenhle Khathwane, who left Eswatini when she was just 13 years old.
Luxurious
The AfroBotanics’ luxurious hair products are sold in various stores across South Africa and the brand also endorses Pearl Thusi’s Black Pearl range.
The hair care products serve to inspire an inclusive and global economy that celebrates diversity.
“At AfroBotanics we empower women through providing products that help them achieve their best hair,” reads their statement on Facebook.
It further states that they understand that every woman’s hair is different and that hair is different things to different women.
Khathwane described her brand as a brand by a woman who has gone through many disappointments with her hair, she formulated a product line that would help women fall in love with their hair as it is and not what they see on adverts and television.
“Embracing your hair for what it is, is so liberating and a confidence boost,” she said.
Lindokuhle Mthupha is popular in the Eswatini entertainment scene as she has graced the stages of multiple events as an MC and ambassador for other lifestyle programmes.
Efforts to get a confirmation from Mthupha were futile as she referred the publication to the hair care range owner, who is Ntombenhle Khathwane.
We also tried to reach her but her number could not be reached on the network.
Working
It is not a first for a liSwati personality to grace the covers and be the face of international products as Coralee Vilakati has been involved in similar adverts for Darling Hair Care as well as Soft ‘n’ Free.
“I have been working for Darling for the past three years in which I did hair shows mostly. I also did an advert as well as photoshoots. But since I was not exclusively a Darling face I worked with Soft’n’Free as well since the year 2017,” she told the publication.
Most recently, Nandy Alexander, who is a model born in Eswatini, has been gracing television screens for an advert for Lindt Lindor chocolate.
