SNOWEE’S CAMEO APPEARANCE ON ‘SERIOUSLY SINGLE’
MBABANE – She is popular for going after what she sets her eyes on and she has proved just that as the Eswatini-born model, Nolwazi ‘Snowee’ Simelane’s acting appearances keep growing.
Last year, the model announced that she would be embarking on an acting career and has successfully done so after a series of international films. Snowee appears as a bridesmaid in the internationally viewed film, set in South Africa. The movie, which was shot around the same time last year, was released on July 31 on online television streaming platform Netflix.
The model confirmed the news on her Facebook page as she shared pictures of herself on the set of the movie. The model’s star has been rising as she has made appearances on another Netflix series titled ‘Queen Sono’, which features Pearl Thusi as well as an Irish blockbuster titled ‘The Professions’.
Simelane expressed her happiness and said she enjoyed being on the set of the movie with all the actors in it. "I got the feature by fitting a brief that was sent to my agency Becky Casting agency based in Johannesburg." She stated that it was a great experience being part of the cast and full of laughs because it was a romantic comedy. “The team took great care of us and our director was there to see that we were taken care of and getting to meet experienced actors and sharing wisdom and getting to learn from them was also the important part of being part of that feature role,” she added.
Model
The model revealed that this was just the beginning and with the lockdown restrictions slowly easing up, she was preparing for more. “I never thought acting would be so easy to get into as per the experience which I had with modelling, which took me six months to master. “I would like to thank Beck Casting Agency and the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) for the continued support throughout my journey,” concluded Simelane. ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini said the council was excited to learn that local artists were breaking new grounds. “We are about placing artists in new spaces and audiences, ensuring that they become attractive to professional transactions,” said Dlamini.
