Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the entertainment circle is growing and adding on new faces. One would think upcoming models will put a pause on their aspirations. However, they are taking the opposite direction and pursuing their dreams.

GCWALA caught up with Pamela Lukhele, who is a young quintessential, vivacious and congenial determined 21-year-old upcoming model residing at Ekudzeni.  She shares her aspirations as an upcoming model with the hope of a brighter future in the industry. She hopes to represent the country in different platforms by showcasing her natural beauty.

What inspired you to join the modelling industry?

Growing up in a remote area of Eswatini at Ekudzeni, I was not exposed to the modelling or beauty industry until I had completed my high school. I was recruited into a drama project, which later developed into a TV production. It was then that developed an interest in modelling as people were complimenting my body, smile and walk.

It pushed me into the industry, I started following a few friends on social pageants until I had the courage to try my luck with the national Miss Cultural heritage contest. It was then that top models snapped me and since then, I went for Miss Africa contest where I competed with the best from the continent including Winnie Harlow, she has always inspired, motivated and empowered me daily. She is proud of her self despite her skin condition, which does not make her less of a model.

What feeds your creativity?

My creativity is influenced by my ability to try out new things and most importantly surrounding myself with art. Sometimes my inspiration comes from looking at art made by others.

It could be paintings, walking through a museum or gallery. This has helped me with taking a break from the pleasure of creating and has given me time to be inspired by other processes and mediums.

What are you bringing in the industry?

Inspiration, determination and persistent. As a leader I’m bound to climb the ladder of leadership with the younger generation by not leaving them behind.

I wish to inspire and motivate them. I want to drive a person to dreaming big and have goals which create a high self-esteem. I strongly believe in the power of attraction, we are our thoughts. A person attracts what they really want. Of course they need to put in the hard work to make it happen.

What are you hoping to achieve in the next 10 years?

I see myself as an international model hoisting the country’s flag in global occurrence and my biggest goal is to become one of Victoria secret’s top model. I would like to establish my own successful modelling agency, where I will be grooming young girls. I would love to establish a new online fashion shop for designers to sell their brands.

If you had super powers what would they be and why?

Mind reading would be one of the super natural powers I would like to own. This power easily let’s you read the mind of people just so that you get warned if someone is plotting against you or if someone is thinking about you. It would also give me the ability to help people solve their problems.

Why do you want to be a bikini model?

My body and my confidence has made me decide into becoming a bikini model. I fell in love with my skin, it is just flawless and perfect. I am  proud  of my body , I wouldn’t  mind parading in town in a bikini, LOL.

I exercise  daily and I do aerobic  exercises  to keep my body in good shape. Phuti Moabelo well known as @Tshiamo motivates me daily. I want people to understand that being a bikini model does not mean you are selling yourself out, but it is a way of appreciating your body. I am looking forward to working with designers, who wish to promote their different  bikini designs  or swim wears.

Besides modelling what are you also passionate about and why?

Well, besides modelling I’m so passionate about entertainment and going out to art events because that is where I get to explore  myself  as I so much love fashion,  I get some fashion  ideas and also get the chance to show out my  style.
