MBABANE – Rapper MKO, signed to Size Killa owned Black Race Recordz, has released the first single to his debut album.

The single is titled ‘Munyeke’, featuring two-time SWAMA award winner Lyrikal Busta. MKO, also known as ‘Vernac Skhulu’ for his creative vernacular rhymes, is an Eswatini-born artist who resides at Nkoyoyo, Mbabane and is set to release his debut album in 2021.

He told the Entertainment Desk that he would give the public a taste of what is yet to come from his first single titled ‘Munyeke’, which loosely translated means ‘money’.

The song was composed by Millzow and audio engineer Size Killa was in charge of the post production, which includes mixing and mastering.

On the first verse, the song speaks about the rapper’s aspirations and how he sees himself making money with his craft and Lyrikal Busta comes through on the second verse to solidify this notion with his street savvy style.

When sought for comment, MKO revealed that his debut album would consist of 15 or more songs, but did not divulge too much as he was still in the production phase.

“I recorded over 22 songs for the project, but Size Killa and I are still selecting the cream of the crop which should see us releasing 15 to 16 songs on the final cut. I’m very excited about the album as it has been two years in the making and we decided ‘Munyeke’ is the perfect single to drop. I’d also like to thank my brother in music Lyrikal Busta for working with me on this masterpiece”, he said.

The project is set to change the soundscape of Eswatini music and his first single is testament to the rapper’s skill and finesse. The song was released on December 4, 2020 and is available for streaming and downloads on SoundCloud (https://soundcloud.com/size-killa-1/mko-ft-lyrikal-busta-munyeke-composed-by-millzow).

The rapper has also posted the link to the song on his social media pages on Instagram (Mko Dlamini) and Facebook (Mko Pantsula).

MKO further mentioned that the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic slowed his progress, but he also saw it as a blessing as it allowed him to be more critical with his work.

Although the rapper did not divulge too much information, the Entertainment Desk surely felt there was much to be desired here and upon contacting Black Race Recordz founder Size Killa, we confirmed that ‘Munyeke’ is definitely a must have for all music lovers as the label head boldly said the song is ‘one of the best songs out right now’.

The song artwork was done by one of the best local graphic designers Sikhulile ‘@tygadoesit’ Zwane and accentuates the catchiest phrase in the song, ‘sidluMandela’.
