‘SCUVEVE’ TO RELEASE HORROR MOVIE

MBABANE – The creativity in the arts industry in the country is one not to be taken lightly.

Real name Sonnyboy Thulani Mavuso, ‘Scuveve’ is a talented young man who is an artist, story writer, actor and an MC. He is currently 31 years old and asserted he began his dream of venturing into drama stage performances in 2014 at Bulembu in the north eastern part of the Hhohho Region. “I used to live with my mother at Bulembu until I recorded music, which was centered around Kasi Rap, in 2016 with a friend of mine from school called Sifundza, but goes by the stage name ‘Helikoptah’,” he said.

Creative

The multi talented creative further disclosed that he released ‘Umbhedze’ which was warmly received by his fans in 2018 and this gave him more confidence to make more music. He further mentioned that he was inspired by Zola from South Africa as he said his music carried positive messages to the masses. “After 15 years of friendship with ‘Helikoptah’, we decided to drop a song (‘Mngan’wami’) and it did well as it raked in over 11 000 downloads and last song dropped ‘Myekeleni’ had 15 000 downloads.”

On the other hand, ‘Scuveve’ mentioned that during the partial lockdown, he started to take his acting career seriously as he mobilised the youth which were interested in acting. Currently, ‘Scuveve’ said he was working on a ‘Sibane’ series as the first two episodes were already available on YouTube. He said he had featured artists such as M-Nation, Bongumuzi and Welile. ‘Scuveve’ went on to add that he was presently working on a horror movie with the assistance of Eswatini Creativity Platform’s Nerville Johnson on how to run the project.

He further said he was currently working on raising funds for the project as he said emaSwati should brace themselves as this would be a good movie to come out of the country.
He concluded by saying further details of when the movie would be released would be made available through his social media pages.
