NEW DESIGNS IN YEBO GALLERY ONLINE SHOP!

This best describes Yebo Art Gallery’s new and exciting designs launching on their online shop. One of them is Imvelo; an intricate large poster drawn by Aleta Armstrong, Director of the gallery. “We used to have the African Fantasy shops in Mbabane and Mantenga a long time ago and I drew numerous black and white posters which were very popular here, in South Africa (SA) and the United States of America (USA). I have been often asked to draw a new one but had to wait for inspiration to strike again which it did  as I have been inspired and comforted by the beauty of nature in Eswatini during these harsh times of COVID-19,” she said.
In this regard, she stated that she spent a few months planning and drawing. Armstrong went on to say that Imvelo depicted the beauty of nature in the country and also served as a reminder of how important it was to protect the environment currently in the face of the climate crisis the word was faced with. With this, she asserted the design was now available from the Gallery’s new online shop and part of the proceeds from the sales would be used to buy seedlings and indigenous trees for local communities in partnership with Solidarity Eswatini.

Worth noting is that the designs are a limited edition print as each one was signed and numbered by the artist. The Director went on to say that the Gallery was in partnership with international courier services, DHL to ship purchased items globally. “The first orders have come in already and they are currently busy packing and shipping other designs,” she averred. Locally, she said the Gallery would also be featuring many products by local artists and designers in their online shop as this would assist with sales for the creative sector due to the current lack of tourist locally. This comes hardly a month after the Gallery launched their new website which was aimed at promoting local creatives’ art pieces. The website was designed by Mzwa Shongwe from Caracali Consulting. Yebo Art Gallery is a contemporary art gallery and design studio based in the Kingdom and was established in 2010, Yebo is passionate about enabling the growth of the creative economy by working together with the most talented professional and emerging artists locally and in the Southern Africa region. They host regular exhibitions at their gallery and on online platforms while also collaborating with artists on product designs, community art projects and creative workshops.
