GOSPEL GIANT NDUDUZO MATSE ON SA TOUR
MBABANE - Hoisting the country’s flag.
The music industry has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, with live performance revenue being the biggest casualty. Some local artists have resorted to taking their craft to neighbouring countries. Gospel music giant Nduduzo Matse will be touring South Africa. He will be supported by Linda Dlamini, his brother Lungelo Matse, local comedian Gedlembane and Lungelo ‘Smallz’ Gina. Themed ‘The Atmosphere of Glory Tour’, Matse will be touring for the first time under his newly record label called Indumezulu Productions. Speaking to this publication, the ‘Gelekece’ hitmaker said the hosting regulations in South Africa were better.
Regulations
“Currently, South Africa is operating under the level one regulations. We thought we should seize the moment. People will remember that I have been hosting all my shows locally. “I felt like it is time I embark on a tour and bring my music closer to my international audience. My brand has grown outside so the move to impart other nations as well,” he said. It is worth noting that the tour will start in Mpumalanga, Matsulu on October 1, 2021 and the second stop will be at Mbombela,Carino Estate. “We are excited to embark on such a fruitful journey despite the current situation. We are also glad that we will continue with our purpose and mandate of ushering people into the presence of the Lord through music. My tour is going to cut across Africa, people must expect nothing less than glory, laughter and revival,” he added. Nduduzo said he was also working on other projects featuring international acts.“I am also working on recording a new album where I will be doing songs with a few local and international collaborations. It will be amazing songs and more information will be shared in this publication,” he said.
Level
Currently, the country has also adjusted to level two of the COVID-19 regulations which were announced by the Prime Minister, Cleopas Sipho Dlamini on Thursday. “The current state is devastating but we trust the good Lord and the government. We can only hope for the better as we would love to continue hosting shows locally,” added Nduduzo. Speaking to local renowned comedian, Gedlembane, he expressed his excitement and shared that this would be his official show in South Africa during the pandemic. “It is now close to two years without the entertainment industry. What is currently happening is devastating. I am grateful for the opportunity and I hope our government will ease the hosting regulations after the vaccination process,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the tour, the gospel giant Nduduzo will be performing alongside Canaan Nyathi who is a businessman, multi award-winning gospel artist, producer and songwriter.
Changes
Nduduzo will also minister through music with Sipho Ngwenya, who is an exciting gospel musician. He is a dynamic vocalist with a huge presence that definitely changes any atmosphere. It is worth nothing that Nduduzo is not the only local artist exporting his craft. A local DJ, who preferred anonymity, revealed that he was actually in South Africa currently securing a deal and had already performed at two different venues. “Seeking gigs in South Africa is better if you are fortunate enough to receive daytime slots as compared to evenings because the venues close at night,” he said.
