DJ UNCLEWAFFLES TO SHARE STAGE WITH DBN GOGO
MBABANE – Certified Entertainer!
The above sentiments best describe what Young DJ Unclewaffles has become. All in a space of four days the DJ whose real name is Lungelihle Zwane, has become fully booked. If her gig guide and posters were anything to by, unclewaffles is having a busy month. From the gig guide she recently shared on her social media pages, Zwane is booked the whole of this week and it is gigs outside the country.
Worth noting is that on October 24 she is going to be playing alongside the much acclaimed Thuli Phongolo ,DNB Gogo and Amapiano Vocalist Pabi Cooper. All these names are popular worldwide for their DJiing skills and vocals. The event is going to take place in Bryanston in the popular fancy hang out spot called Rockets. The club is popular among the elite celebrities in South Africa; it has hosted faces like Boity, DJ Zinhle, and Bonang Matheba to name a few.
The gig comes a day later after DNB Gogo hinted that she would be working alongside the Eswatini native DJ. Social media fans were sent into a frenzy after seeing the poster; everyone took time to congratulate Zwane on riding such an epic wave. Other gigs graced by unclewaffles include the cotton lounge, Champagne Tuesday which were in South Africa, Pretoria.
gratitude
The young performer has shared messages of gratitude on her social platforms and thanked her supporters for the encouragement and messages of support.
In her most recent tweets she mentioned that she had finally had time to take everything in and breathe. “Finally took in the moment, thank you God, thank you,” she wrote on her twitter page. All this hype and recognition really started after Zwane posted a video of her performing at a night club. Titled ‘people are burning’ the video collected over three million views. It further scored her a follow from drake under the user name ‘Champagne Papi’.
The recognition has gone as far as political; unclewaffles was recently referred to by Mnusi maimane, a popular political figure head in South Africa. In his tweet maimane shared that people needed to stop focusing on hate or competing with the DJs. “The people need delivery, not dances. Stop competing with unclewaffles and Vinny. Address the potholes, the lack of water and the inconsistent power supply. The people deserve safe communities, quality schools and clean neighborhoods. Real delivery not fake stadiums,” read the tweet from the political head, which has also been very vocal about the recent unrest in the country.
Although her success has been amazing to watch, it has been, however, met with a number of people hating. The Dj has had help from her followers in fighting off haters who did nothing but spew hate. A number of people on social media were spreading negative energy and questioning a lot of things around the sudden rise to fame by the young Dj. In one of her tweets Zwane was seen throwing jabs at her haters by saying she had too much love to focus on the hate and negative.
increase
Meanwhile, the artist has employed other means to increase her fan base and keep in touch with her followers. The DJ yesterday announced her new Tik Tok channel. Tik Tok is widely popular with some content creators rising to fame based on their engaging content on Musical.ly. The users shared Musical.ly videos on social media platforms like Instagram, further driving the app’s popularity. In this platform the DJ is going to share short-form videos of her or any other topics she is interested in. She has also continued to gain more followers on all her social media platforms.
Zwane has also been on top of the twitter trend list for three days straight. When this report was compiled she was still number one on the list with over 42 000 people mentioning her or tagging her. A number of online media outlets in South Africa have also ran articles on the DJ. These include the global Glamour magazine. Other online platforms praised the young star for her skills and energy.
