MBABANE - ‘Praise your way out.’

The above was the theme of Lobukhosi Makhubu’s album launch, which was held at Mbabane Alliance Church on Saturday. The album launch was attended by congregants who shared how much they were looking forward to the day of the launch. Despite the political unrest that engulfed the country last week, leaving many with uncertainty whether to continue hosting their shows or not, Makhubu’s album launch was a success. The ‘Ngaphiliswa’ hitmaker performed songs from her much-anticipated album which consists of 20 songs.

Tracks

Some of the tracks she performed were;‘Ungcwele’, ‘Impela’; You are alone, By the grace and ‘Ngichakazile.’ It is worth noting that the gospel singer took a moment during her performance and prayed for the current political state of the country. She also appreciated some of the local giants of the gospel music fraternity who are Nduduzo Matse, Nondumiso Nhleko and Mnqobi Maseko, whom she said were some of her inspiration in the industry.  In an interview with Makhubu, she expressed her excitement and thanked gospel music lovers for the support.   “I did not expect this kind of reception from people, the whole time being on stage and seeing how responsive they were, made me realise how much support I have and I am grateful for each and every one who is part of my musical growth,” she said.

Inspiration

She went on to share the inspiration behind the album. She said it was inspired by true life experiences and the great deeds of the Lord and what He has done for her life. “People definitely got the message as they sang and prayed and worshipped with me while I was in spirits on stage. It was powerful to witness that,” added Makhubu.

The show was supported by a number of influential  people in the industry such as gospel artist and Award winner Dlamini, Association of Christian Artists of Eswatini (ACAESWA) President Phetsile Masilela, Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture ENCAC representative Mathokoza Sibiya  and gospel artist Sphiwo Ndlangamandla to mention a few. Makhubu will be going on a national tour promoting her album and more information about her projects will be shared on this publication. “We are working on a national and international tour as we are trying to secure sponsors for the next project. There will be more shows headlined by Sabela Records. For now CDs are available at E100 per copy and anyone who would like to purchase one can contact 7845 0417 or 7834 7003,” she said.
