‘!SOOKS’ FIRST LISWATI FEATURED ON DHS SA
MBABANE – Award-winning house music producer and Deejay ‘!Sooks’ continues to make waves on the international music scene.
Having released his debut house music project under Atjazz Record Company (ARCo) titled ‘Pot Pourri’, which charted at number two on Apple’s iTunes Dance Chart in its first week of release, Sukoluhle ‘!Sooks’ Dlamini has let his music afford him the opportunity to make history. This comes after the ‘Oasis’ hitmaker became the first liSwati to have his mix play-listed on Deep House South Africa (DHSA) podcast, which is available in music streaming platform, Soundcloud.
DHSA is a platform which brings house music lovers the best afro and deep house music from around the globe. It has a following of over 19 000 people.

At the time of compiling this report, it had been only a day since the mix titled ‘DHSA Podcast 062’ had been uploaded and it garnered over 500 streams. DHSA has in the past featured renowned artists such as Lazy Luke, Buddynice, Kaygo Soul, Daniel Rateuke, FKA Mash and Kid Fonque, to name a few. When asked how he felt on achieving such a milestone with his musical journey, he said, “I am elated at being afforded this opportunity as this is a special mix which I enjoyed making. It is a great feeling to be the first liSwati to be included in the podcast and this definitely means I am headed to the right direction career wise.”

He went on to add that music lovers can look forward to his unreleased songs featured on the mix that will be released this year and also thanked everyone for supporting his career. The mix which is just slightly over an hour (1hour 38 seconds) consists of unreleased songs such as ‘Eva’, where he features award-winning house music producer Dwson (SA) and ‘Musa’ (Claudio Remix) featuring renowned local songstress Velemseni.
‘!Sooks’ began his music journey at an early age when he became fascinated by African music and synth sound creation. He fully made his mark in the electronic music scene in 2016 when he released his first EP titled ‘7 Years of Colour’ under Antidote Music, followed by a release under international label Deep Stitched Records titled ‘A Different Place’.
Achievements
Among his biggest achievements to date, are winning three awards in 2019 including Best Underground Record of the Year for his song ‘Oasis’, Best Compilation Album for House Afrika Records Mzansi House Vol.9 (which includes his debut album Symmetry) at the Dance Music Awards South Africa (DMASA) and Best House Artist at the SWAMA Awards in the country. ‘!Sooks’ is currently in Johannesburg, South Africa as he is booked to perform at various events including Kitcheners Carvery Bar this coming Friday.
