MBABANE - ‘We were never ready!’

This was a popular term used among fun lovers this past Sunday as Mega Lounge hosted three South African artists in the same night. The artists were Young Stunna, TDK Ma-Cassette and Star Rabotapi. The show was a collaborative effort between Mega Lounge and Step Up Entertainment and Sound. The weather was not favourable on the day as it was raining as of the afternoon in Mbabane but this did not deter fun lovers from attending the show. Most of the fun lovers looked forward to seeing the ‘Adiwele’ vocalist (Young Stunna) so much that they waited until his arrival at the venue.

Given that the event was advertised only a day earlier, the power of social media played its role as over 300 fun lovers had already packed the Mega Lounge dance floor by 8pm as the club’s resident deejays serenaded the crowd with various sets of house and hip hop music. When Young Stunna finally took to the stage, he was welcomed with loud cheers from his fans as some would scream ‘Adiwele’ out loud in anticipation that he performs the song. Clad in a baggy shirt and green cap, the South African Amapiano star set the house ablaze literally as he performed songs from his latest album titled ‘Notumato’. He first performed ‘Camagu’ featuring award-winning producer Kabza De Small.

The famous hit ‘Adiwele’ summed up the peak of the night  as local patrons could not contain themselves with excitement. TDK Ma-Cassette and Star Rabotapi also enthralled the already excited crowd as everyone danced the night away. Rooi Mamba said, ‘It definitely was a good show despite the rain which deterred some of our friends from coming but I wouldn’t have missed out on Young Stunna’s performance as I am a hard core fan ever since he made it. I definitely give the show a 9 out of 10 for real.’

In an almost hoarse voice, Simphiwe Silindza said she thoroughly enjoyed herself on the night with her friends. She went on to say, ‘I loved Young Stunna’s performance especially when he performed Adiwele. The only downside about the show was the rain but apart from that, we were never ready!’ In an interview with this publication, Mega Lounge’s Samkelo ‘Zulu D’ Zulu thanked everyone for attending the show even though it was short notice; given the fact that it was advertised only a day before. He thanked patrons for supporting the establishment’s events no matter the weather conditions.
