Mbabane – It is going to be fashion galore!

The fifth edition of the event will take place from July 22 to 23. They have partnered with Top Models Eswatini director and local fashion mogul, Mbalenhle Manana.
Manana has hosted numerous pageants and fashion shows in the country and has travelled all over the world taking with her some of the country’s very best models. This has been a showcasing mechanism that was adopted by the agency.
Her networking skills have landed her the opportunity to network which promoted the relationships that will see SADC’s well-known designers grace our soil. It will be a scene out of a magazine as Manana has managed to secure the arrival of Lindiwe Gigaba from South Africa who is a renowned fashion guru in the continent. Gigaba is a fashion designer who has designed elegant work which has graced runways in Seychelles, Mozambique, Lesotho, Congo and even France. The artist is also the founder of Africa Fashion Alive (AFA) and AFA Fashion Meets Arts Collaborations. The top designer is also known around the world for her commendable work with securing donations for Doctors Without Borders through her fashion shows.
Networking
Gigaba’s ‘House of Magic’, AFA was founded in 2011 and its main objects are to provide quality designer wears, crafts, networking platforms and documentaries focusing on arts. “It is all about the people for me, bringing cultures together especially artists in the fashion industry in order to help grow and expose them and their brands. AFA is the brand of choice and next generation fashion movement of the world,” said Gigaba. Top models director spoke on the new feel that the fashion show will bring and their plans for the proceedings. “We have ten international designers from Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Mozambique who will be coming into the country to dress our models for the event,” said Manana.
The fashion enthusiast shared that the show will also be a promotion of our heritage especially because fashion is an expressive form of physical art. There are also growth opportunities that are available at this section of the entertainment at the event because of the major stables that will be there. Local fashion designers who have been invited will also have one on one session with the international designers and Lindiwe Gigaba herself. Other international fashion designers to look forward to will be Precious Lulu Vohni from Venda, South Africa and Zimbabwean designers, Sanah and Litso. The vogue section at the Biggest Braai will allow for a lot of career networking opportunities and also the opportunity for Eswatini to showcase and learn from the names that will be coming into the country.
Philani Maswati Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini spoke about the importance of diversity in the entertainment industry as it is a very broad space. He said the collaboration was sort after to try and make the event tasteful to all pallets and one that would draw in more people because of the variety it was bringing to the table.
