NHLONIPHO REACHES OVER 90K STREAMS
MBABANE – Nhlonipho Dlamini is slowly but surely proving that the world is his oyster with the accumulating accolades.
Local artists are proving week in and out that they have mastered the tricks of trade and their music is recognised on a grand scale. Now based in Johannesburg, South Africa (SA), Dlamini has recently recorded an astonishing 52 700 listeners on Spotify in just two months and over 90 000 streams across 137 countries. Spotify is a proprietary Swedish audio streaming and media services provider founded on April 23, 2006. It is one of the largest music streaming service providers, with over 433 million monthly active users, including 188 million paying subscribers, as of June 2022.
Steaming
The music streaming platform has a diverse playlist, including all genres from artists all over the world, including Beyoncé, Adele and Ed Sheeran just to mention a few. It worth noting that recently, Ed Sheeran had the most monthly listeners on Spotify for a male artist, and Dua Lipa had the most monthly listeners on the same platform for a female artist. Sheeran is the most-followed male artist, and Ariana Grande is the most-followed female artist. Dlamini shared how overwhelming it was for him, and that he was very humbled by the support he is receiving. Dlamini has been gaining momentum, he is part of the recent remix of international musician’s song ‘Nervous’. The remix was performed with Dlamini’s music partner Mthandazo Gayta and John Legend. The artist recently released an Extended Playlist (EP) featuring Oskido which has been aired across SA radio stations, currently sitting on the 10th spot.
Leap
His musical career took a leap, as he recently worked with renowned SA and international artists such as Luyolo Yiba, Thando Mngomezulu, Shuffle Muzik, Zintle Kwaaiman, Nathi Mankayi, Amanda Mankayi, Samthing Soweto, Citizen Deep, Amanda Black, Nathan Blur, Siyakha the list goes on.
