MASSIVE TALENT IN ESWATINI - MURDAH BONGZ
MBABANE – SA producer and DJ Murdah Bongz after his newly-released work with local, Nhlonipho Dlamini mentioned how the talent in the kingdom was on unimaginable heights.
Murdah Bongz, also known as MÖRDA, is a South African (SA) DJ and one-time member of the now-inactive band Black Motion. Born in Pretoria, his interest in music caught fire when he was a child. He joined the church choir, where he learnt some instruments and continued to develop his musical gift. He soon met Thabo Mabogwane, also known as Thabo Smol, with whom he formed the band Black Motion, he adopted the stage name Murdah Bongz, and the group started making music which soon became popular.
Amazed
The artist initially shared on his Instagram story that he would really enjoy working with Dlamini, also how much he was amazed by the talent in the kingdom and it was something to be explored. When reached for comment, he confirmed his statement which was seen on social media. “I don’t see race or nationality when working, but now that I questioned about how it was working with someone from Eswatini, there is so much talent and that is evident from the people who are breaking out into the spotlight from that country,” said Murdah.
Collaboration
The collaboration with the local was explained to this publication by Dlamini, he said; “The actual meet-up was organised and set up by my manager and the very same night that we met. I came up with ‘Woza sambe’ song on the same night.” The artist further shared about his experience working with Murdah, which he described as amazing, same as the year 2022. It’s worth noting that besides the massive collaborations with SA industry heavyweights, Dlamini had five songs in the top 50 radio monitor of SA and three of his songs were featured on Metro FM Top 20 Charts among some of his recent accomplishments.
Grateful
The artist has revealed in a number of interviews with this publication that he was grateful for the great opportunities. “It is an out of this world experience and at times I need to pinch myself just to make sure I am not dreaming. This is because it is quite rare to live in a dream you had been having for so long, on foreign land,” said Dlamini. The latest project is just a testament of how things are coming together for the artist.
