MBABANE – The Mega Crossover themed ‘Ishiselo Inamandla’ has received an extra boost from the Eswatiini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) amounting to E7 000.

The money will aid with the sound system that will be used at the event. When reached for comment, the ENCAC CEO, Stanley Dlamini mentioned that they sponsored the event as part of decentralising services. It was further mentioned that this sponsorship comes after the council, in 2019 launched regional sponsorships following the office’s objective to transfer authority and responsibility for public functions from the central government to subordinate or quasi-independent government organisations and or the private sector.

Outdoor

The upcoming event is a 24-hour musical outdoor event to be held in the Shiselweni Region tomorrow. This will be the second edition of the crossover organised by Arts and Events creative’s Menziwokuhle Mthethwa under MSD Events collaboration. During this event, fun lovers will enjoy a full musical experienced to be captained by earmarked local musicians such as Sands, Ayanda Ntanzi, Shiba and The Travellers, DJ MBO, Ntondozi Gospel Group, Matamza, Andile ka-Majola, Umfana Webhejisa, Young Zesh and many more.

When reached for comment, Mthethwa said; “MSD Events and Shiselweni Mega Crossover team will engage in an outreach campaign that is aimed at helping the disadvantaged Shiselweni communities. Part of our event proceeds will go towards these initiatives by our partners for deserving people of Shiselweni.” Mthethwa further revealed that they aim to unite the people of Shiselweni annually and unearth hidden talent in the region.

Identifies

“While the crossover team identifies and selects top performing acts for the big stage, talented artists and entertainers from the host region will be awarded a chance to be nominated, voted for, which will then qualify them to be part of the crossover entertainment line-up. “The talent search competition comes with lucrative prizes for the actual winners in cash and other prizes. A premiere prize presentation will happen in the course of the event, which will see event guests, partners and sponsors crown the top three competition winners,” Mthethwa added. The Shiselweni Mega Crossover is set to commence with activities including a mega shisanyama, talent search competition, brand exhibitions, mega children’s games and motivational speeches to empower fun lovers.
