KINGJRTHEMUSIC NO.1 ON AUDIOMACK

MBABANE – Local Hip-Hop artist KingJRtheMusic has become the first Hip-Hop artist locally to take the number one position for two straight weeks on the streaming platform.

He was also the first Eswatini artist to be verified on the streaming platform Audiomack. Audiomack is an on-demand music streaming and audio discovery platform that allows artists and creators to upload limitless music and podcasts for listeners through its mobile apps and website. On the platform, he currently has over 24 915 total plays and his songs average over 1 000 listens each. One of the benefits of this is that the artist monetises his music as Audiomack pays royalties to master recording rights holders, as well as to songwriters and their publishers.

What does this mean exactly? According to 1710media.com, once your Audiomack account is authenticated or verified, it allows the artist or creator to unlock some special benefits, like sending all of their fans a message once they release a project, gaining access to automated notifications and submitting artists’ songs to be listed in ‘trending chart’ which ultimately boosts that particular artists’ reach. Quite elated by this new development, the rapper shared that this meant he was headed in the right direction with his music and he was proud of himself as the hard work he had put over the years was starting to pay off. Born Luyanda Duke Junior Mbingo, ‘KingJRtheMusic’ is an Independent Hip-Hop artist, a new age multi-genre beat-maker (Hip Hop, Trap, RnB, EDM and Kwaito to name a few genres and a producer of snazzy beats).  He was born and raised in Manzini and the rapper is proud that he has managed to create a snazzy rare sound.

Tutorial

Also the fact that  he taught himself everything about music production from a tutorial from a close friend back in high school. The self-made producer and rapper shared that he started rapping back in 2010, after being part of the Hip Hop culture since kindergarten. He reminisced on how he used to hang around his parents and elders at home and listened to different sounds of Hip Hop and other genres played by them, till he was in primary school (Matsapha Government), he recalls beat-boxing and rapping on a beat inspired by his then schoolmates and musical movies too. After getting his hands on a FL Studio 9 software back in 2014, the rapper decided to up his game after a few studio session locally and add a skill of being a producer and a beat maker, which has helped him have a few songs under his belt.

Multi-talented

After a few collaborations and deciding to go solo on the music scene, the rapper released a solo single titled T.H.R.U. which broke his record of climbing streams and penetrated borders, going as far as USA, UK, India, Russia and many other African countries through a snippet on his Instagram account which led to renowned brands, socialites and celebrities reposting and reacting. The rapper shared that the song, T.H.R.U is doing well on streaming platforms, hence the international focus sparked on the working progress. Even though KingJRtheMusic does not have an Extended Playlist (EP) or album yet, however, the song has since been reached gold status as it was play listed on international radio stations. According to the talented artist he has been approached by record labels overseas.

“I am also currently working on a United States of America (USA) collaboration with producer AYEON on a #BlackLivesMatter theme song and a few S.A and local artists.” One of his offerings to date ‘Sanitiser FREESTYLE’ is most definitely following the trend doing massive traction for freestyle and the visuals are currently under construction for it soon to be released, marking KingJR’s first official musical video.
