MBABANE – A selfless act!

Miss Cultural Heritage Lindelwa Maziya has transferred her scholarship prize she received from Workers College after being crowned to Miss Cultural Heritage First Princess Nompumelelo Matsebula. Maziya is the 12th queen to be crowned; she was crowned last year November 12 at Manzini Club. Matsebula, who is set to benefit from the scholarship was crowned as first princess with Noncedo Mamba who was crowned second princess. Since the reigning Miss Cultural Heritage is currently enrolled at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) for a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, she said transferring the scholarship to Matsebula was an easy decision since she was already studying.

Transferred

“I transferred the scholarship to the first princess in January since I am currently registered at the University of Eswatini, which is a higher institution in the country. “I could have given the scholarship to someone else, but then I thought it would be a good gesture to give it to her since she is close to me in the pageant and should something happen and I am unable to do anything she will be the one to get things done on my behalf,” Maziya said.
The first princess shared that she was grateful to receive the scholarship from Maziya, she further confirmed that indeed she had already began classes at Workers College.

“I want to thank the Arts and Culture office for giving permission to Lindelwa Maziya to hand over her scholarship. I am so excited and I am currently at Workers College studying my Diploma in Psychosocial Support and Counselling, which will help me give back the to the society. It will take me three years to finish this course,” Matsebula said. Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley Dlamini said Workers College proved to be the right partner for the pageant by giving the young ladies such an opportunity.

“Our partners and sponsors are usually told prior that such can happen where one of the girls might win a scholarship, yet they are already enrolled somewhere. With this scholarship, Workers College really came through for us and we would like to appreciate them for giving the girls the opportunity. We are really grateful to them, the partnership has been there for the past three years and the goal is that everyone involved must have value in helping our children,” Dlamini said.
