STHERA FEATURED ON SA BANK AD
MBABANE - Local actor Sithembiso Kunene, commonly known as Sthera, has been featured on a Standard Bank South Africa (SA) commercial.
The actor mentioned how thrilled he was over the great opportunities afforded to him. It is worth noting that last year he bagged a role on an SA soapie which airs on Mzansi Magic, Gomora. His role was about a community member in Gomora who initiated the mob into taking justice into their own hands because they were tired of Mr Lebalo using his power and influence to molest and take advantage of young girls in the community. The commercial was released last Thursday and a date of when it will be on TV has not been disclosed yet.

In the commercial, Sthera plays a very doggy looking taxi conductor who has zero Mathematics skills. The 43 -second clip shows how people can beat the travelling stress, by being able to access things like statements on the Standard Bank App. It’s worth mentioning that the actor last year auditioned for MTV Shuga drama, which is set across multiple countries in Africa, originally from Kenya. It follows the lives of young people as they encounter love, lust and the challenges of growing up.
Kunene mentioned how his recent drive to be a part of the series was for his love of acting, but moreover him sharing the news before he knew his fate was to encourage and show locals that the opportunities were available out there.’’ I think it’s important to make emaSwati actors aware of these opportunities and also for them to just take a leap of faith and audition.’’ The series will air in the second quarter of 2023 and by then the fate of the local actor on the show will be known. Kunene is an actor who recently graduated for acting for TV in SA. His journey in acting started in Eswatini in a show called Ekhaya,which he shared with this publication that he will forever be grateful for that opportunity because that’s what made him realise that he was actually a good actor and could make a career out of it.
