The two talented comedians have widely established themselves in Eswatini comedy base raking in thousands of views and likes for their videos on social media platforms.
The funny duo’s followers have grown recently, with Gogo raking in over 70 000 followers on TikTok while Slwane is seating on over 50 000 followers. In June, the duo will be looking to grow their fan base in Durban as they will be showcasing their skills alongside other top comedians from the rainbow nation. After making it as part of the line-up for the Durban comedy show, they shared that they were excited as they would be able to grow their brand further.
Exciting
“It’s an exciting invitation and an invaluable opportunity for us to grow, expand our network even more and learn from how some of Mzansi’s best have grown their brands to be part of that market’s performing arts elite, highly sought after by both corporate, public entities and private individuals alike. “Ultimately, it is also an important opportunity for us to celebrate our multi-award-winning sister in comedy, Nonto R for her clean sweep at the recently held Savanna Comic Choice Awards, at which we were part of the international guest list,” the comedians said. “Seeing this as our first official performance in Durban, one of Mzansi’s entertainment and show-business hubs, we cannot wait to dabble in the glory of one of Mzansi’s most interesting arts market and understanding why this beautiful nation is misunderstood as they are , as we of course have our script capitalising largely on this notion,” added the comedians.
The duo went on to say that they are looking forward to sharing moments with some of the top comedians who will also be performing on the day. “We look forward to sharing the stage with the much-loved MakaThangthini, the Gospel glorious Simunye Churchboy, the international stage ready Sifiso Nene and so much more. The beach? Curry? We can’t wait,” the comedians said.
Humbled
They further shared that being invited for this show greatly humbled them. “It’s a humbling reminder of our potential, not just as entertainers from Eswatini, but as ‘Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane’, a performing arts duo that while truly humbled believes they were born ready for such and many other bigger stages. “It is a reminder of the immense potential that Swati artists have and just how much they can achieve with a little more support and a reminder to us to keep building and let those who want to build along or invest even with confidence, find us along the way,” shared the comedians.
