LOCAL MUSICIAN CHEISTAR TO TOUR USA
MBABANE – Local musician CheiStar is set to tour the United States of America (USA) from July to August this year.
The tour will start in Pennsylvania on July 21–27, then proceed to Los Angeles on July 27–August 1, and from August 2–7, she will be performing in New York. She will end her tour with a performance in Washington, DC, on August 8–13. Born Cheilla Merissa Vovos, when reached for comment, said: “I am very excited to be touring the USA since the inception of my music career in 2018. Excited is truly no word; I cannot express my gratitude to God. What a time to be alive! Thank you to my entire team, Alasea Visuals, Zed Makeup Laboratory, XLR Kingdom, Nommy Designs, Viva Beverages, and other individuals who consistently show up regarding preparations and rehearsals; it has all been worth it.”
She went on to say, “I love every second of this. I will be performing at the Epic Gig Festival this year, and I am also headlining a show July 1 at the Theatre Club, where there will be a special production. I will be showcasing what is yet to come and what I will be doing overseas.” According to the artist, she will be competing as a quadruple treat in four different categories and also visiting a few local radio stations. “I cannot reveal much regarding the line-ups yet, but I can say that I will be competing at Ipop in Los Angeles,” she added.
It is worth noting that CheiStar was the first Eswatini-based artist to host the screening of a full extended play (EP) in music video format in a movie theatre at Gables Movie Zone. She was screening her EP titled Letters to Her, which was launched in 2022. The screening was a milestone for CheiStar as a brand. She has been very strategic in promoting her brand between South Africa (SA) and Mozambique. She was also in the top three in the MTN Bushfire Firefly in 2021, battling out with Criss Tino and Ashton-Rae.
