Uncle Waffles is set to perform in California, United States(US) in September. This will be during the Lights on Festival which will be held in Mountain View, Carlifornia. Born Lungelihle Zwane, known professionally as Uncle Waffles, is a liSwati-born now based in South Africa (SA) DJ and record producer. She is noted for her work in the Amapiano genre and her dance abilities, with Billboard describing her as the ‘Princess of Amapiano’. She has caught the attention of one of the biggest international musicians in the game including Drake. Uncle Waffles recently went viral after Beyoncé played her song Tanzania during the Renaissance World Tour. The footage of the ‘Lemonade’ hit maker’s dancers entertaining the crowd in Sweden’s Friends Arena by dancing to the song made headlines and became a hot topic. She recently got nominated for the upcoming BET Awards ‘Best International Act’. The Queen of Amapiano will be going back tothe US in September for the festival dubbed ‘Lights on Festival curated by H.E.R’. During the show she will share the stage with well celebrated European musicians such as the likes of H.E.R, Jazmine Sullivan, Partynextdoor, Don Toliver, Alina Baraz, Toosh, Smino, Syd, Doechi, DVSN, Umi, Kiana Lede as well as Leon Thomas to name a few.

The festival is organised by Grammy award-winning musician H.E.R. She has won five Grammy Awards in all and she has been nominated 25 times. Waffles won the heart of such a well celebrated musician hence she got featured in the line-up of the show. Such a nod finds Waffles in a spot where she is currently growing her wings all over the United States as she recently got nominated in the recent BET Awards for ‘Best International Act’. Waffles attended the BET Awards which were held on Sunday at Los Angeles. BET awards recognises the accomplishments of musicians, actors, athletes and more across diverse entertainment domains. The recent ceremony celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and rapper Busta Rhymes was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The late Queen of rock and roll Tina Turner was also honoured with a tribute by Patti LaBelle. On the ‘Best International Act’ Award, the DJ was competing with SA musician K.O, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Libianca, Stormzy, Ella Mai, Central Cee, L7nnon and Tiakola.
