MBABANE – Local musician Manana, Nasty C and Tellaman’s newly dropped single is making waves on streaming platforms reaching over 300 000 streams.

Select Play was the first to release the new single titled ‘Better than this,’ featuring contributions from Nasty C, Tellaman and Manana. The new single was released under this platform, which is a brand and company that deals with music in general. They specialise in writing songs, mixing and mastering music and beat production. The song is also available on YouTube, Apple Music and Sony Music, to name a few platforms where the streams have been tallied from. Nasty C has been one of the most talked-about artists on the scene this year. The Hip Hop star has a new album coming soon and it is expected to drop either late next month or early August. He also has a tour with Cassper Nyovest coming. Meanwhile Ndumiso Manana, hails from Eswatini and is a Grammy Award winner, songwriter and musician. He has written songs for Ami Faku ‘eBhayi’, Amanda Black for ‘Africa’ and Sauti Sol, to name a few. He has also collaborated with the late South African (SA) musician and rapper AKA on his recent album titled Mass Country. Nasty C born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo is a South African hip hop rapper, songwriter, actor and record producer. In March 2020, Nasty C signed a joint venture deal with Def Jam Records and released his United States official single after joining Def Jam, ‘There They Go’, which gained him global recognition. Tellaman born Thelumusa Samuel Owen is a South African singer, songwriter and record producer.  He is most known for a number one charting single by DJ Speedsta titled ‘Mayo’, which features himself, Yung Swiss, Frank Casino and Shane Eagle. Manana had previously announced the news of the release through an Instagram post. The release of the single finds the musician at a point where he is determined to continue pushing his craft abroad, as he recently performed for the first time in Los Angeles at Winston House last week.

During the show in Los Angeles, Manana shared the stage with SA musicians Rowlene and Willinley. The musician then took to his Instagram account to share an appreciation post for the opportunity he got to perform in LA. “I played my first show in LA, and man, it was special! And I got to share the stage with @willinleyy and @rowlene_sa. What a magical experience with a magical audience, so thanks to everyone who made the mission far and wide come out! All the love to @itstheimports for bringing all the Southern Africans together for this beautiful showcase, and a special thank you to the team at @tgisfiction, @winstonhouse, and @artisticintent!” read the post. Manana has a Jazz background and is part of the band Seba Kaapstad, alongside Zoë Modiga. When Nigeria’s Burna Boy’s album ‘Twice as Tall’ came out on top in the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy Awards, little did Manana know that the win would be a life-changing moment for him. He walked away with a Grammy for his contribution to a song on the album titled ‘Time Flies’, featuring Sauti Sol. He has already released three projects, which form part of a trilogy. As it is a continuation of the other. The first Extended Playlist (EP) was released in 2020, titled ‘In the Beginning Was the End’. The second EP was released in 2022, titled ‘But could the moments in between’, which builds on the sentiment of being in love and feeling it from the first EP, later in the same year, he dropped the final part, titled Comma. It is different from the previous two, but it remains honest and comes from a place of love. Together, the trilogy forms a short poem.
