TOP MODELS DIRECOR FOR AFRICA HERITAGE FASHION AWARDS

MBABANE – Top Models Eswatini Director Mbalenhle Manana as well as two other models from the same stable have been nominated in the Africa Heritage Fashion Awards.

The Africa Heritage Fashion Week and Award is an initiative that aims to celebrate excellence in African Fashion. They honour the rich cultural tapestry and extraordinary talent of African fashion designers, models as well as industry players. Mbalenhle Manana has been nominated in these awards as ‘Best African Fashion Promoter of the Year’. Worth mentioning is the fact that Manana is an African Icon award-winner, she has also made it to Nigeria’s top 50 most industrious women in Africa. She has also been honoured by Africa Fashion Week London as Woman King of Africa. Upon being nominated in the Africa Heritage Fashion Week and Award, Manana was further asked to suggest two models that have excelled in the fashion industry over the year. She then nominated two models, who are housed under Top Models Eswatini, namely, Nonjebo Lusenga and Wendy Baxter.

According to her, these two models have worked hard during the past year, showing their genuine passion for their career. During an interview with Manana, she shared that being nominated for these awards has been a great motivation to herself as well as to her two models. “It’s such a great motivation, it’s what I do best, I’m very happy and honoured. I’m one person in Eswatini and in the whole of Africa who works with different Fashion Weeks. I scout models and designers from different countries for fashion weeks. We have a WhatsApp group of designers across Africa. It’s working for us as well as for the whole fashion industry. I met some of them through the ‘World Stage Pageants for Models’, I always request them to give me contacts of their designers, hence the group was formed, Africans united through fashion,” Manana said.

She further encouraged people to vote for her as she is looking to bring the award home. “I am kindly requesting my African people, designers, models and show producers to vote for me as I have added value too to their shows previously, by bringing renowned designers who have brought so much change to their shows today. I am looking to bring this award back home without any fear,” she said.
