MBABANE – Award-winning musician M Nation, who recently went to India alongside Eswatini Cultural Troupe stepped out in bright colours during the ongoing Surajkund International Crafts Mela.

The Surajkund Mela is a unique showcase of the richness and diversity of handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of India. It is the largest crafts fair in the world and is organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. Worth mentioning, is the fact that last year award-winning Gospel musician, Linda Dlamini was selected alongside the local cultural troupe to attend the Crafts Mela. M Nation flew to India alongside Eswatini Cultural Troupe on February 1 after a send-off which was attended by the current Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima and Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Stanley Dlamini.

Moments

The send-off was held at the Ministry of Sports in Mbabane. On Friday M Nation made his first stage appearance alongside the Cultural Troupe, who were dancing and ululating as means of backing the musician. The Surajkund International Crafts Mela is currently ongoing and it will end on February 18. We have compiled some of the moments which were captured by the ‘Limuva lami’. It is worth noting that this year’s annual Surajkund Mela saw the significant presence and participation of a number of foreign countries. The fair was upgraded to international level in 2013. This year more than 20 countries participated in the fair, including various SAARC and European countries.
