TOP MODELS ESWATINI OPENS DOORS FOR ASPIRING MODELS
MBABANE – Top Models Eswatini (TME) has announced that it will host modelling auditions at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre in preparation for the upcoming Eswatini Biggest Braai.
The auditions will be hosted on March 24, and aspiring models are set to grace the runway as early as 10am. This was revealed by TME Director Mbalenhle Manana during an interview with this publication, where she shared that they would be collaborating with another agency to do these auditions. “The auditions are organised by Top Models Eswatini for the Eswatini International Fashion Week 3rd Edition, which is a fast-growing brand at the Eswatini Biggest Braai event and very famous in the fashion industry in Africa,” Manana said. She further mentioned that such collaborations are yet to come this year.
Agencies
“This year we will be collaborating with agencies; models signed under agencies, not models without agencies. We are giving every model in Eswatini signed under an agency to come and have fun with us and to learn one or a few things in the fashion and modelling world, knowing that most of these models are local. They are models who never travel out to showcase outside the country. Most of the few who have, were successful through Top Models Eswatini,” she said. When asked how the models will get to benefit from joining the auditions, she shared that they will grace the runway in some of the shows that TME will be having soon. “Those individuals who want to join will partake in the Eswatini Biggest Braai Fashion Show, as well as all shows that the agency has. Through the Eswatini Biggest Braai Fashion Show, we have grown big in Eswatini. We have another three fashion shows from Epic Gig and the Eswatini International Trade Fair, which were both launched last year. We are forever thankful and grateful to the Eswatini Biggest Braaai team and Lutfo Foundation for the recognition,” Manana said.
According to Manana, aspiring models who are looking to join the auditions are expected to bring a joining fee amounting to E200. There is also a specified dress code for both genders; girls are expected to wear black leggings, black crop tops or t-shirts and high heels. Boys, on the other hand, are expected to wear black jeans, black t-shirts and sneakers. She also encouraged modelling directors to bring well-behaved models. “Since we will be working with agencies, not individuals, I guess directors will bring good, respectable, hard-working, passionate, and focused models who know how to present themselves in public, especially in a big event like the Eswatini Biggest Braai. Respect is key,” she said.
