MANANA COLLABORATES WITH CADBURY
MBABANE – Musician Ndumiso Manana on Tuesday announced a collaboration with Cadbury SA for a live performance on Valentine’s Day on Instagram.
The live performance was scheduled for 7pm on the day of lovers and was named ‘datenightwithcadbury’. Cadbury is a well-loved brand with a heritage of doing good in the world, and the South African (SA) arm of Cadbury was formed with the construction of the Port Elizabeth factory commencing in 1930. The quality of their chocolate starts with goodness that goes beyond ingredients, as mentioned on their website. It is the same goodness that ensures that their cocoa farmers are well cared for, communities are uplifted and the inherent goodness in SA is embraced and celebrated. It is worth noting that the chocolate brand has had collaborations with other SA stars.
When Manana shared the news on social media, he mentioned how the session was specifically for single individuals because people in relationships always get everything. Manana has been making waves recently for making it as one of the songwriters for American musician Usher’s newly-released single titled ‘Ruin’. Born Ndumiso Manana, famously known by his stage name Manana, is a Grammy Award winner who has written songs for Ami Faku, Amanda Black, and Sauti Sol, to name a few. Manana has a Jazz background and is part of the band ‘Seba Kaapstad’, alongside Zoë Modiga. When Nigeria’s Burna Boy’s album ‘Twice as Tall’ came out on top in the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy Awards, little did Manana know that the win would be a life-changing moment for him. He walked away with a Grammy for his contribution to a song on the album titled ‘Time Flies’, featuring Sauti Sol.
Advocating
The multi-talented RnB artist is proving that there are no rules to advocating for what you believe in, especially as an artist. Whether behind the drum kit, piano, or microphone, he is able to express what the heart needs to hear simple and honestly. The comments about this announcement still applauded Manana for his work with Usher, showing how big of a deal this was to the people. The single was released on Friday, February 3, and is a pre-cursor to Usher’s ninth studio album, titled ‘Coming Home’, set was released on February 9. ‘Ruin’ is an Afrobeats and Amapiano-inspired single that has been recently remixed by South African (SA) Amapiano Disk Jockey Soa Matrix. Worth mentioning is the fact that Manana wrote this song alongside Philip Kayode Moses, and it is performed by Pheelz alongside Usher. Other SA musicians who recently remixed the song include former Black Motion member Morda, who did a three-step edition and Junior Taurus, who did a radio remix. The original song as well as the remixes are currently available on Spotify.
