MBABANE – Gospel musician Msandi will be hosting a talent show tomorrow at Mathendele Hall in Nhlangano.

Msandi Motsa has partnered with the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) to host the talent show. The show will be hosted under his stable, ‘Msandi Communication’, and the auditions will also present Gospel and Poetry awards. This is not the first time that a Gospel musician has tried to elevate other upcoming musicians. Award-winning Gospel musician Nduduzo Matse is currently on a drive to give upcoming Gospel musicians a chance to shine on the local scene and further enable them to record their music through the Rising Star Talent Search, which was given birth by the Mother of All Gospel Shows.

Last year, they successfully recorded 14 upcoming musicians alongside the two winners, which are Gcebile Maseko and Ntsandvoyenkhosi Ngcamphalala. These musicians were further given their recorded songs and this was possible through the collaboration of ENCAC and Matse.
According to Msandi, the talent show is inspired by the huge gap that exists within the Gospel industry as well as his vision to promote upcoming artists.

“The main reason for hosting the show is because I have seen a huge gap in the Gospel industry, where a lot of young people are into other genres like Afro-pop, Hip hop, Amapiano, and more. So there’s no one who invites or acknowledges young Gospel artists. Therefore, as a host, I’ve seen this gap as an opportunity to help promote these youngsters and showcase their talents,” the musician said.

Potential

He added that the talent show will help the young stars reach their full potential and be able to get the things they have been wishing for in the industry. “With the help of God, we hope that the talent show will help make their dreams come true and also be an inspiration to other talented young people. They have dreams that they have not yet displayed; they can go the extra mile, they can even reach the stage of recording their songs,” Msandi said.

“The show will make them popular, and they could contribute to alleviating poverty because, through being artists, they will earn money. My prayer is that this show will go a long way because it will change their lives. Having something to do with your life on a daily basis helps a lot, especially for youth. They avoid doing criminal activities,” he concluded.
