MR ESWATINI SPREADS LOVE AT MKHUZWENI HIGH
MBABANE – Mr Eswatini Sive Mawelela visited Mkhuzweni High School on Friday and donated sanitary pads to the pupils.
Mawelela was crowned Mr Eswatini last year in December at Sharma House, along with first runner-up Msimisi Dlamini and second runner-up Gary Taruvingira. He is not only the title holder of Mr Eswatini, but also a model and a qualified teacher, as he recently graduated from William Pitcher College with a Secondary Teachers Diploma in Education. According to Mawelela, visiting the school was an amazing experience. “Visiting Mkhuzweni High School was a very beautiful and amazing experience. “I did my teaching practice there, and going back to the school as a qualified teacher and a national title holder (Mr Eswatini) was just amazing. It was a motivation to the learners to say you must always aspire to be at the top so that you inspire others as well to fight and push for their dreams,” Mawelela said.
When asked what inspired his giving hand, he shared that he is aware of poverty being a problem among young people. “My inspiration for donating sanitary pads was evoked by the fact that, sanitary poverty is a big problem that is taken lightly. We have young girls who end up using old pieces of clothing as pads, because they cannot afford to buy sanitary pads.
“This really made me understand that if we do not take action today, no one will; it all lies on us to act. I’m very proud because when you help young people, they will learn to help others too, and that’s a foundation that we need to lay on their hearts to say no one has ever died from helping or giving to the next person in need,” he said. When asked if he would be visiting another school anytime soon, he nodded, citing that he would if he got the resources. “Well, if I had all the resources, I would confidently say I am, but with God on our side, we will. I just want to ask companies in the country and the relevant stakeholders to join hands with us as we work towards improving the lives of our fellow young emaSwati. “I am always ready to work when it comes to helping our young people, and I’m committed to it. Interested organisations and companies that would be interested in working with me while doing these donations can contact 7611 1447,” Mawelela said.
