HELEMBE PRODUCTIONS TO LAUNCH COLLAB SONG LOCALLY
MBABANE – South African (SA) production stable Shelembe Aphiwe Productions will launch a collaboration song that they recently worked on with local creatives in the kingdom.
Shelemebe Aphiwe Productions recently hosted a cultural exchange with local creatives in Durban, which was attended by musicians such as Mshikishi, M Nation, Samu Once Again, Scuveve and Grinder, to name a few.
The cultural exchange was given birth by a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which was signed between the Eswatini National Film and Television Association (ENFTA) and Shelembe Aphiwe Productions in 2023.
During the cultural exchange in Durban, the two parties worked on a song whose title is yet to be revealed. According to Zakhele ‘Ugly Gee’ Mabuza from ENFTA, the newly-recorded song will be launched in the country on a date yet to be revealed.
“The song is now not only an audio, but we also did a music video while in Durban during the cultural exchange. We cannot yet reveal the dates pertaining to when exactly the launch will be done. Shelembe Aphiwe Productions will be visiting the country soon to launch the song. “For now, we only have short teasers of the music video, but all I can say is that Emaswati will love the song. It features the likes of M Nation, Samu Once Again, Mshikishi, Scuveve and Shelembe Aphiwe artists since it was a collaboration,” Mabuza said.
Collaborate
He further thanked the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) for helping creatives collaborate with Shelembe Aphiwe through the MoU. “We are now back in the kingdom, and we would love to thank ENCAC for giving our local creatives the opportunity to work with Shelembe Aphiwe Productions. I believe our creatives managed to build relationships with SA artists from Shelembe, we hope we will be seeing more collaboration from now on,” he said.
Worth mentioning is the fact that local creatives did not only do production of the song during their visit to Durban. They also joined an arts round table, which was organised by Shelembe Aphiwe Productions, and mingled with other SA artists through games and other activities. They came home with a full soccer kit after defeating Shelembe Aphiwe Productions 5 – 1 in a soccer match.
