GRIXXLY FEATURED IN US SHOW
MBABANE – Talented Hip Hop musician Grixxly was featured in the United States of America’s ‘The Nadeska Show’ on Saturday.
‘The Nadeska Show’ is a music show founded by music journalist Nadeska Alexis, based in the USA. The show has featured multiple award-winning international musicians, such as Cardi B and Schoolboy Q, to name a few. Grixxly is the first local musician to be featured in this show, where he got to share more about his latest release, which features Amarii.
Born Sibusiso Malambe, professionally known as Grixxly, is a versatile Hip Hop/Rap artist and producer hailing from Mbabane, Eswatini. His musical style spans from conscious rap to trap, showcasing a fusion of trap beats with conscious lyricism. Grixxly’s debut project, ‘As the Fruits Ripen’, peaked at No. 3 on the Apple Music Top Albums chart in Eswatini and marked a journey of experimentation and ‘firsts,’ reflecting his refusal to confine himself to a specific Hip Hop sound. The critically acclaimed EP earned him two nominations for ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Hip Hop Song’ at the MTN SWAMA Awards and got plenty of spins on YFM’s The ThreeWay Show with OG Samke, FiF Laa, and DJ ZanD.
During an interview with Grixxly, he confirmed that he was part of the show, citing that he was fortunate. “I was on the show speaking on the meaning behind my latest song, ‘No Mistakes’, before it was played during the show. I am fortunate enough to be the first Swazi artist to be the ‘Africa Rising Artist of the Week’ on one of Apple Music’s biggest music shows. The show is in the USA. Nadeska is also part of the RapLife show hosted by Ebro, which is arguably the biggest Hip Hop show in the world,” the musician confirmed.
Wonderful
When asked about how it felt to be on the Nadeska show, he shared that it was a wonderful feeling. “It’s a wonderful feeling, coming from watching ‘The Everyday Struggle’ show on YouTube featuring Nadeska as one of the co-hosts to actually being introduced and hailed on her very own music show before playing my song. It’s definitely an amazing, reassuring feeling that I find difficult to put into words, and it’s almost like seeing a dream come true. This opportunity has motivated me to, not only, keep making and dropping music, but to be more confident in my craft, with the idea that if my song could be featured in one of the biggest music shows on Apple Music by someone who’s interviewed the biggest names in the world, namely Baby Keem, Schoolboy Q, Cardi B, Big Sean and more, then I should be doing something right, all I have to do is just keep the cog wheels spinning from herein out,” he said.
He went on to share highlights of the show and encourage fans to stream his new song. “On the show, I was speaking about my latest song, ‘No Mistakes’ featuring local Hip Hop artist Amarii, and telling the listeners about the song, the motivation behind the name and what it means. To circle back to your question, the segment of the show that I was part of was about the new song. “If you’re a fan of good music, especially Hip Hop music, you’re definitely in for a treat with ‘No Mistakes’. From hard-hitting bass-lines to clever flows and punch lines from myself and a talent like Amarii, you do not want to ‘make the mistake’ of not listening to the song, I’d also like to thank the people that have been showing love to the song. The numbers have been showing that people are giving it a listen. The song is available on all streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and more. The lyric video is also available on my YouTube channel, Grixxly Official,” he said.
