NHLANGANO – The Triple Treat Dance Group were crowd winners of the Shiselweni Dance Competition.

This was during a dance competition hosted by Eswatini National Arts and Culture (ENCAC) at Fusion Pub and Grill. The Triple Treat Dance Group was one of seven groups that competed during the competition. It was gathered that the event’s main purpose was to unearth talent in the region and to help expose the talent of upcoming artists.  Triple Treat won a trip to Durban as well as E1 500. They will now attend the upcoming KwaZulu World Carnival, which will be hosted in Durban on May 25.

Worth mentioning is that, all the participants walked away with consolidation prizes of E200 and upwards from number seven to the winner. Some of the interviewed competitors shared that they were excited about such opportunities as they met other dancers and learned new dance moves. They shared that they wished for such events to be hosted frequently so that they could get exposure. During the event, there were different performances from artists as well as cultural dancers.

The main guest of the event, Passion Master, whose real name is Vusi Mazibuko from Nelspruit, was a marvel to watch. Passion Master who is a South African Traditional Music Award (SATMA) winner for best siswati Album in 2019, performed tracks including ‘Makhwapheni’ and ‘Emagama’ among other tracks. He stated that he was also in the country to spot talent and was willing to assist upcoming artists in recording their music.

He described Eswatini as his second home as he said he was recognised from the border until he got to the venue.  At the venue, fun lovers could get enough of him as they took pictures with him. The event ended with different upcoming artists performing for the audience.
