PIGG’S PEAK - Nhlanhla Shelembe of Shelembe Aphiwe Productions says he will support M Nation and his foundation where possible.Shelembe said this after attending M Nation’s launch which took place at Mgobodzi in Pigg’s Peak last weekend. The event was a significant milestone for M Nation, an artist dedicated to giving back to the community.

Shelembe’s presence at the event was in honour of a recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) that emphasises the values of Ubuntu, the spirit of togetherness and mutual support. According to Shelembe, M Nation is an artist who embraces Ubuntu through caring for his community. “He is not just about the music, he is an artist that embodies the principles of Ubuntu. I am proud to support M Nation and I look forward to seeing the community rally behind him,” Shelembe said.

Feature

He further highlighted the importance of solidarity and encouraged everyone to back the foundation’s initiatives. Notably, M Nation’s recent feature on a trending song, which was done during the recent Durban Cultural Exchange that featured South African and local artists, is expected to generate royalty benefits, a portion of which he plans to allocate to his charity work. Shelembe advised M Nation to remain humble and always remember his roots. M Nation in turn, expressed his deep gratitude and commitment to his community.’’ This foundation will strive to support where it can. I am a fitting example of what the community can produce. I am proud of my community and should I derail, any elder from my community has a right to call me to order. I am not a family child, but I consider all elders as my parents,” he said.

He further implored parents to support their children’s talent as life has revolved, making himself a fitting example. The event was further attended by Miss Cultural Heritage Melinda Mavuso, who actively participated throughout the day. She mingled with the children and even helped in the kitchen, showcasing her commitment to community involvement. She shared that she had an amazing experience and has been inspired to do more charity work. “It was amazing honestly, blending with young kids is not easy, but being able to make them feel comfortable was my highlight of the day.

Platform

‘‘Those little smiles they gave which brightened my day were top tier. I’ve been inspired to do more charity work because I’ve always wanted to give back to the community, but I really didn’t have a platform, so seeing someone smile and, appreciate what you offer them motivates me to continue being humble and giving a helping hand where I can,” Mavuso said.
