LOBAMBA – The President of Eswatini Schools Arts and Culture Associataion, Ronnie Gamedze, says they are yet to announce prize giving day for winners of this year’s competition.

This was revealed by Gamedze during the second and final day of the Inyatsi Schools Arts and Culture Competition held yesterday at Somhlolo National Stadium. “We are working around the clock to finalise everything under the competition and we are aware that some of the winners have been already announced. We are yet to announce the day when we will award all winners of the competition,” Gamedze.

The Inyatsi Schools Arts and Culture Competition started at a regional level and yesterday they reached the national level as they successfully hosted the last leg of the competition. Gamedze expressed his gratitude to the sponsors of the competition, citing that the support has been wonderful. “We are grateful to the Inyatsi Group, Imisebe Publishing and Eswatini Women Network for their marvellous and wonderful support towards schools in the Kingdom of Eswatini. The event went well and all schools from the four different regions were able to show up for the competition. However, some schools did not keep time but we are glad that everything went well,” Gamedze said.

He further shared that such competitions help the young ones exercise and free their minds.  “For the mind to be sound, young people have to engage in extracurricular activities, where they get to exercise their bodies. Other pupils are not as capable as others when it comes to lessons that are conducted in class. When we bring them into these activities, we find out that they have talent when it comes to the arts. As schools of arts and culture and Inyatsi Group, we are saying let the pupils identify their talents so they can earn a better living tomorrow’’ Gamedze said.
