MBABANE: The preparations for the Embiveni Biggest Braai continue on a high note as the organisation is busy with the final touch-up.

This was revealed by Philani Maswati organisation chairman, Lutfo Dlamini. The event that will take place at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on July 20, 2024, is attracting more and more emaSwati, as they are abuzz on social media about it. The chairman urged emaSwati to purchase their tickets now before they run out: “This year we have gone digital; tickets are available online for those who are still interested and they can purchase them by visiting the Philani Maswati website. It would be really great if they purchased those tickets now, as they just got paid, to avoid last-minute complications,” said Dlamini.

Charity

Proceeds that are collected at the gate still go to the charity organisation that aids the elderly and needy people in the country. “We are still maintaining the E100 that is collected at the gate, which goes a long way in helping the needy in the country,” added Dlamini. This year’s edition has a twist, as at the last edition, the event attendees witnessed a fight between the Kings Advisor, Prophet Major V, and Mphandlana Shongwe. The boxing match this year is quite different, as they have women taking on each other in the ring.

“The boxing association is going all around the 59 tinkhundla looking for interested and fit candidates that will be a part of the match and see which inkhundla will have the strongest women in boxing who will walk away with the E10 000 cash prize,” said Dlamini. The chairman also added that they had been contacted by a popular social media influencer who wants to get in the ring with his rival, but all those details will be revealed in due course, and the association should keep tabs on their social media pages.

Also worth mentioning is that modelling houses were invited to bring over models for auditions, and they will be a part of the modelling at the event, which was confirmed by Top Models Director Mbalenhle Manana, in an earlier interview with this publication. “We send an invitation to modelling house’s to also bring their models. Many aspiring models want to walk the Eswatini Biggest Braai runway, which has made a big impact in Eswatini as well as in Africa, because last year we hosted countries such as Zambia, Botswana and South Africa,” Manana said.
