MBABANE – Renowned Gospel musician Phathwakahle Mabuza successfully hosted her eighth album live CD and video recording on Saturday, at The Luke Commission Auditorium in Sidvokodvo.

The live recording was well executed with Phathwakahle’s vibrant performance that kept fans on their feet. Her dancers were also the main attraction, with a well-coordinated choreography. The Luke Commission Auditorium was filled with screams of happiness whenever Phathwakahle and her dancers displayed their choreographed dance moves. Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) sibhaca team also joined the musician on stage, to spice up the live recording with local traditional flavour. Attendees sprung to their feet as they were surprised by Phathwakahle’s collaboration with the sibhaca team. During the live recording, she successfully recorded 10 songs.

Worth mentioning is the fact that the live recording was attended by Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, who was represented by Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo. During his remarks, Khumalo said music plays an important role in the country’s economy. “Art, in general, has made a significant contribution to the country’s economy. It is true, however, that we have not yet reached a stage where all our musicians can make a meaningful living out of music,” he said. The prime minister also went on to say that he was amazed by the event’s theme, which was dubbed ‘Spiritual Healing’.

“I was particularly impressed by the theme of this event, which is ‘Spiritual healing - do not stop dreaming, only God knows when.’ Indeed, yours is a story of perseverance as the music ministry is fraught with many challenges, which I am sure you can attest to. Many have tried this route before, but have thrown in the towel along the way, but here you are; standing as a beacon of hope to many aspiring Gospel musicians and still shining the heavenly torch. May many be inspired by your strength and tenacity and follow in your footsteps,” he said. During an interview with Phathwakahle, she said the album was mainly inspired by the grace the Lord has shown her for 17 years in the music industry.

Album

“The album stems from my 17 years of singing for the Lord and thanking him for what he has done for me, my family and the Gospel fraternity,” she said. Phathwakahle also added that she loves all the t10 songs in her album, but the song that stands out is ‘Lisphethekahle’, as it is a happy song of praise and worship, thanking the Holy Trinity for the grace.  Phathwakahle also expressed her gratitude to emaSwati for the unending love and support they have shown her for all these years.‘‘I am very grateful for the love the nation continues to show us over the years. The auditorium was packed to the brim, infact, it was overflowed with a combination of young people and a throng of elders from all over the country. This is, indeed, a testament to the growing number of emaSwati  who support and love my music,” she  said.
