WAFFLES CAUSES SOCIAL MEDIA STIR WITH DRAKE IMPERSONATION
MBABANE – Uncle Waffles caused a social media frenzy Monday evening after posting pictures of her looking like Canadian rapper, Drake.
Born Lungelihle Zwane, the Eswatini-born international superstar, posted pictures of herself imitating rapper Drake on Instagram.Uncle Waffles posted alerting her fans as she will be headlining in Toronto for the first time, for her show dubbed ‘We Love Waffles’ on the first of August 2024.
Uncle Waffles rose to fame late 2021 after a video of her playing ‘Adiwele’ in a South African Club went viral.
A number of personalities reposted the viral video in awe of the talent of the young DJ. The trending video at the time caught Drake’s attention and he reposted it with fire emojis and he started following her on Instagram. Just a few hours after the post, the Canadian rapper also jumped to the comment section and left an ‘I will be there’ comment.
The winner of the 2023 GQ Women of the Year Award is always doing the most in the industry and setting the bar higher after every performance. As she has been dubbed ‘the princess of Amapiano’ Uncle Waffles is set to grace over 10 international shows this year alone. As one of the many Amapiano artists who were set for the Afro Nation, She recently rocked the performance in Portugal with her backup dancers clad in Waffles University Uniform.

Adding on to her shows; she is set to perform at the upcoming Broccoli City Festival, that will be hosted in Washington, DC, next month on July 27. The Broccoli City Festival is an American music festival. The festival recently featured the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies and Skeme, to name a few.
During the upcoming Broccoli City Festival, Uncle Waffles will get to share the stage with Grammy Award winner Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, Partynextdoor, Kaytranada, Victoria Monet, Key Glock, Sexxy Red, Fridayy, Amaarae and Jordan Ward, to name a few. Worth mentioning is the fact that Grammy Award-winner Lil Yatchy and The Concrete Family are special guests for the festival.
