MANZINI - South African Kwaito musician, Professor sent the crowd into a frenzy during his Embiveni Biggest Braai performance.

The Embiveni Biggest Braai’s eighth edition definitely lived up to the expectations of the public, from the kiddies games, spin show and the performances from local DJ’s. The games corner and candy stalls were certainly a beautiful sight to see, as children enjoyed playing the different games and candies prepared for them at the show. It is worth noting that even though people had come out in large numbers, each individual was catered for and there lines heading out to each game were manageable. By 9am, each stall had set up and by the time the people started flooding in, stall owners and their helpers were ready.

As the main act of the night, Professor set to the stage and made a grand entrance, he kicked off his performance with his hit song ‘Jezebel’ and the whole crowd went into a frenzy. ‘Jezebel’ is a hit song by the South African Kwaito musician, featuring Oskido. The song was released as part of the album ‘Jezebel and Imoto’ in 2011. It is a main mix track with a duration of seven minutes and 39 seconds. The song showcases Professor’s musical prowess and has been a significant success, captivating audiences and earning acclaim on South African radio stations.

Professor first gained prominence as part of the Durban-based Kwaito duo Tzozo and Professor before embarking on a successful solo career. ‘Jezebel’ was a standout track from his debut solo album, ‘University of Kalawa Jazmee’, released in 2010 under Kalawa Jazmee Records. The album achieved triple platinum status, selling 120 000 copies, and ‘Jezebel’ played a pivotal role in catapulting Professor to greater heights of success as an individual artist.

Much to the crowd’s excitement during his performance Professor lived up to the crowds expectations with his energetic rendition. He was undoubtedly the highlight of the show, as the crowd sang along to all of his songs on the night. After his performance, this publication went into the crowd to hear what the people thought about the headliner’s 40 minutes of the stage, and all this publication got was that it was the best throwback rendition of the year.

The musician’s keyboard player, Miz also stole ladies hearts on the night with his beautiful renditions of “All of me” by John Legend. Local artists also delivered the best sets on the night, as they kept the crowd on their feet the whole night. DJ Culolami versatile music set also got the fun lovers jamming hit after hit. Local spinners also kept the crowd’s adrenaline rushing with their electrifying stunts during the spin show. Team Brema and Liqui Molly were notably crowd favourites with their out-of-this-world stunts. Liqui Molly shocked the crowd when he left the driver’s seat and let the car spin on its own for a few seconds.
